The 1996 Michigan Curriculum Framework guides the English/language arts curriculum in our local school disticts. It consists of twelve reading, writing, speaking, listening, and viewing standards and benchmarks.
The 2004 K-8 Grade Level Content Expectations (GLCEs) guide the content of the state-wide MEAP assessments and provide curriculum details for the classroom teacher. The 2006 High School Content Expectations guide the content of the required English 9, English 10, English 11, and English 12 courses and assist students in preparing for the Michigan Merit Examination(MME).
Each local school district has developed their English/language arts curriculum which corresponds to the Michigan Curriculum Framework, the Grade Level Content Expectations, and the High School Content Expectations.
The intermediate school district provides training in LETRS, MLPP K-3, and MLPP 4-6. In addition, our professional development library provides many resources for teachers and administrators. |
