TITLE: Job Developer/Job Coach
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree in Social Science Field. Additional
course work and/or experience with students and
adults with disabilities.
REPORTS TO: Transition / Special Education Coordinator
JOB GOAL: To provide assistance to local district's and ISD personnel
with the placement, supervision, and development of work
sites in order that special education students may by better
able to successfully adapt to adult work and living situations.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Establish and maintain contact with local employers.
2. Conduct readiness activities with students that include;
a) The interview process from application to job placement
b) Interest inventory survey for pre and post job placement
c) Pre-Vocational checklist to determine interest and readiness
3. Coordinate transportation to job sites with district transportation
4. Communicate to parents, instructors, Board of Education and the
business community on student progress
5. Conduct coaching, on-site supervision. Follow up and evaluations
6. Coordinate recognition activities for business owners and outstanding
students.
7. Attend IEPT's of potential students.
8. Other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
A 12 month year consisting of 250 days of 7.5 hours per day. Salary and work year maybe established by the Board of Education.
EVALUATION
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board of Education's Policy of evaluation by the Transition/Special Education Coordinator.
