Each September a group of local volunteers gather to offer local history programs at the Menominee County Historical Society's  natural area on the Menominee River, a few miles upstream from the City of Menominee. Programs on Ecology, Fur Trade, Logging, and Native American History are presented in morning sessions offered to all area elementary schools September 10, 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, 25, and 26th. Home schoolers or other small groups may be combined to participate. Individuals available to volunteer for one or more mornings are sought, training is not necessary. Interested teachers or others with questions or interest in local history may call Denise Taylor at 715-923-4183 or email Denise at wdtaylor@wildblue.net
